Hi all. Day two of out on the road

After a nasty night of not sleeping well finally decided to get up.  We had a few activities to do today anyways so might as well get up have some breakie and then take a walk to get the kinks out.  And I do mean kinks.  That bed was nothing to write home about, but we have one more night with it before we head on our way again.  Well something to really look forward to.

So once we got ourselves roused and moving we were still too early to sign in to do tree top adventure.  So decided to take a walk and see what else we could see.well we found another part of whistler village that we did not see last night.  Allot ore shops to look at and more eating places.  We also found where they were giving awards for yesterday's triathlon.  So there was a few people around there.

Oh I found a hat shop there.  Red hats, purple hats, blue ones and leather or cloth.  Lots and lots of hats.  I was in my glory just looking at them.  No decorated ones but found something I had been looking for for quite a while.  A straw type hat that will let the breast blow through keep the sun off and I will not sweat too much wearing it.  It was made in Australia and I bought it and wore it for the rest of the day.  Worked beautifully.  Not red but it does the trick for what I want on really sunny days.  My eyes do not take the sun very well anymore so it shaded the eyes and I could see allot better.

We then came back to the room got our jackets as we would beheading up the mountain later on.  But first we had to sign up for tree top adventure.  You walk trails and stairs and swinging bridges.  Watched the zip liners doing their thing through the trees and said that doesn't look too bad. I am going to try that.  Well not this trip but maybe some other time.   The chicken shit is going to do this.  Probably scream her head off but yes I am going to do it.  Now it will be just getting past talking about it and really doing it.  Well back to our tree top adventure.  You where half way up the trees walking around.  On platforms and swinging bridges between them.  You could feel the swaying of the trees and walking on the bridges you would bounce all over the place.  You were up high enough to see a river below way down below.  And the zip liners were flying by at all different angles.  I enjoyed that walk through the bush.

After we came back from that we we where just coming to were the bus picked us up again and watched a couple of bobsleds going down the tube.  They do this when someone wants to go down.  One huge tobagan ride.  I would be afraid that the sled would go were you didn't want it to go and you would be off the track.

The bus took us back to the village.  We then got in line to go up whistler mountain.  Took a little while to get to the front of the line and get on the car going to the top.  We went up and up and up and up.  Made one stop about one quarter of the way up.  Bicyclers get off there to ride back down.  We then started up some more.  Just kept going up and the ears are popping and the air is getting cooler.  Well worth the ride to the top though.  The cycles are up here too riding around.  They are everywhere.  More cycles are down in the village then there are cars.  Once we got off that car we walked over to the other building and got on the peak to peak gondola.  There was a huge line up.  But this was for people who wanted to ride the glass bottom gondola.  There was only two of them running.  So people had to wait.  We got in the other line and it moved allot faster.  We where on in no time and started our ride across to black comb mountain.  Wow what a view from there.  We went down a little ways and the across and back up a little ways on the other side to get to the turnstile there.  No towers in between just the wires holding us there to get across.  On the otherwise they were doing construction so no real building to go into.  Could have walked the trail a little but instead got back on the godala and headed back across to whistler mountain.  We waited for the glass bottom one this time.  A little bit of a wait but the line was not as long on this side.  Back across we went.  Saw a bear on the way back below us walking on one of the roads. Just ambling his way along.

After getting off we wandered around for a little bit.  Went up to the viewing area at the top of the building.  Then decided it was getting a little nippy and headed back down the mountain.  Aw!!  Warmer weather down below.  Headed back to the room got rid of our coats and had ourselves a lovely dinner at the keg.  Expensive but yummy steak.

We then took one more look around the village.  Seeing if there was anything worth buying.  I said we could go back to the hat store.  But was told I had already got one.  Oh well.  We check out the clothing stores for a jacket but did not get one and then I dragged him into bear expressions.  This place has all sorts of Jammie's with saying on them.  I got a giggle out of reading them.  What I was looking for was the bottoms to go with a top I already have, but they didn't have it.  I guess I will have to keep with he ones I have already.  Oh I seen another of I am not fat just fluffy in one of the stores. If anyone was interested.

Well didn't find a jacket or anything else to buy.  Are ow back at the room enjoying a little quiet time after all the walking we did today.  Tomorrow will be on the road for about eight hours or so to get to our next stop. The gold mining town of Barkerville.  We have a reservation to spend the night in one of the hotels on site.  This will be interesting

So catch you when I have internet again.  I doubt Barkerville will have.  Way out in the boonies and it off from everything.
